Dental Crowns

What It Is

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap that completely covers a damaged, decayed, or weakened tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance. Crowns are custom-made from porcelain, ceramic, metal alloys, or zirconia to match your natural teeth. They protect the tooth structure while providing full chewing function and aesthetic restoration.

When You Need a Crown

  • Large cavity too big for a filling
  • Cracked, fractured, or broken tooth
  • After root canal treatment
  • Severely worn or weakened tooth
  • To cover dental implant
  • Cosmetic enhancement of misshapen tooth

Types of Crowns

Porcelain/Ceramic

Most natural-looking. Best for front teeth. Metal-free

Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal

Strong with good aesthetics. Metal substructure + porcelain

Zirconia

Extremely strong. Natural appearance. No metal

Gold/Metal Alloy

Most durable. Best for back molars. Less aesthetic
