Gum Treatment

What It Is

Gum treatment (periodontal therapy) treats gum disease ranging from gingivitis (mild inflammation) to periodontitis (advanced infection affecting bone). Involves deep cleaning, medications, and sometimes surgery to remove bacteria, heal gums, and prevent tooth loss. Essential for oral and overall health as gum disease links to heart disease, diabetes.

Treatment Options

Scaling & Root Planing (Deep Cleaning)

Removes plaque/tartar from below gumline. Smooths root surfaces. Local anesthesia. 1-2 visits

Antibiotics

Topical gel or oral antibiotics to kill bacteria and reduce infection

Gum Surgery (Flap Surgery)

For advanced cases. Gums lifted back, deep cleaning done, gums repositioned

Bone/Tissue Grafts

Restores lost bone or gum tissue in severe cases
